What's the difference between a function and an equation? #shorts

Have you ever wondered what's the difference between a function and an equation? Functions and equations share similarities, and they are even used to solve similar problems. But there is a key difference that you need to know about in order to understand functions and equations and their applications, especially if you are studying functions 11!
A function is a special relationship that exists between two variables. For every x value that goes into a function, there is exactly one y value that comes out.
An equation is a math sentence that only has certain values that make it true.
There are times where you can set a function equal to a value, at which point it becomes an equation!
