Offline Console Activation for PS3HEN with Apollo Save Tool

PS3HEN offers an awesome yet optional re-licensing feature for PKG installations, however it requires activating the console on PSN using a valid account. Although full CFW consoles have alternatives to this such as using reActPSN, PS3HEN typically requires PSN sign-in and a manual activatation. Using Apollo Save Tool's Account Activation feature, this can be utilized on consoles without needing to log into PSN! This is made quite simple and can be set up within a few seconds after PS3HEN has been installed, allowing you to fully utilize the features PS3HEN has to offer!

This same tutorial should also work for full CFW users as well, however this is primarily useful for PS3HEN users since CFW has several applications to help with this. Some CFW variants also offer the activation features baked right into the firmware's menu options! This video also assumes you already own a console modified with PS3HEN. It is also assumed the viewer has a basic understanding of how to navigate their console.

Here's a tip for those struggling with on the fly activation with rap files. The file extension must be lowercase. I think this has to do with the fact that the PS3s OS is Unix based (I think) and is case sensitive. I struggled with this, so I'm making a comment in case anyone else is having that problem.

Can confirm that this works with Evilnat CFW as well. I think the on-the-fly activation feature from PS3hen is now built in to CFW as well

Thanks for this video! Apollo app is a lifesaver. First it let me get rid of copy protection on the Souls games so i can back up my save, and now it also lets me activate my ps3 offline, awesome! I hate drm so i am thankful for these efforts and will send some money to the dev(s).

If activating the PS3 account doesnt work because "user.dat already exists", "registry is not valid" or other errors, then just import licenses from USB001 and then select the game license you want to activate. Simply exit to XMB and launch the game.

Thank you very much, it worked to avoid the task of replacing the CMOS battery, however still need to turn on the internet to get the proper time and avoid "This content has a time limit " issue

Finally. The video I have been waiting for a while because recently when I was at my cousin's house in Vancouver Canada for my summer vacation trip this year and I tried to play some PS2 games on my cousin's PS3 console using PS2 Classics GUI emulator for PS3HEN, I kept getting the copyright invalid error message because his system has not been activated as a primary system for games but he doesn't have a PSN Account, which is required to do so until I found this tutorial on how to activate PS3 system offline using Apollo Save Tool without having to have a PSN Account to do that. So Mario, if you're seeing this comment right now, I would like to say thank you so much for this tutorial you've did and I'm hoping to try this out on my cousin's PS3 console when I'm going to see my cousin again in Vancouver Canada next summer. This is awesome. I have a PS3 that I want to use completely offline . I just want to rip my PS3 games to my SSD and not have to worry about the Sony PSN nonsense.
