A former firefighter has told Sky News of the lack of action taken by the London Fire Brigade after he suffered racist abuse from a colleague.

It comes after the organisation promised a major overhaul following an independent report that found it was institutionally racist and misogynistic.

“Punched, slapped, video calls exposing genitalia, urinating on objects” excuse me ??? That’s not bullying that’s terrorizing someone. How are these people not getting sued??

There are no people who are more subtle at racism than the English.

The worst part about being racially abused is the other people that watch and say nothing 😔

The irony...we have celebs, people preaching about racism in other countries....such as Qatar ect...yet our own people face racism living in the UK. The sad fact is, despite UK being portrayed as a beacon of true representation, equality, we still have people getting discriminated because of their race, age, sex ect...before we preach against other countries, we need to look in our own 'backyard' first.

I have faced racism in my workplace so many times. Moving job does nothing but decrease or increase it.

Im a mechanical engineer and a welder, because of my skin colour and my asian name i had to change jobs so many times. Some companies have this "coming over here and stealing our jobs" vibe, so instead of arguing with idiots i just leave.

As a Uk born and bred white European person I could say sadly I witnessed many racist incidents to many people not necessarily black or Asian . I can’t say that UK is a racist nation as a whole but I think racism is majorly common particularly in England

I love these comments telling him to just grow a pair, how it’s just ‘banter’. Basically telling him to just keep his head down and endure it. Listen to what ole’ massa is saying and don’t talk back.

Mind Begs the Question:
If a PM/Politician is openly Racist - not Punished
Citizens are Racist - should be Punished?

Well that's the end of the London fire brigade. It'll all be downhill from here.

I faced Racism at work, I stopped working and opened my own business and never looked back. To avoid things like this, l tend to work in places with poc or jobs that hire them, so l don't feel alone and don't become a target.

Unacceptable behaviour. These toxic work cultures reflect badly on the whole society which we work hard to make better for all. Should be dealt with asap.

Im so tired of all this... the west is the most diverse and most accepting part of the world who invite people of all races, religion's and culture yet we constantly get hammered for being "racist" all because a tiny minority sometimes take it too far. Where are all the stories showing how open and accepting the vast majority are? Oh that's right the BBC and Sky aren't interested in showing us in a good light. Our media need desperate reform.

Racism in uk, at work is not new but people carry on like it doesn't exist. Normal racism is just done in such a slick way, in many industries, its just looked upon as if we make it up.
