If you don't trust yourself with a credit card but want to build your credit, you can set up a bill you have (that will always be under 30% credit limit) to be paid by your credit card, then pay your CC bill when it's due. This is especially helpful if you pay your bills online. You can also set a strict grocery budget and use your credit card just for your groceries, then pay it off.

I have student loans but I feel lucky to say the interest rates are all around 2-3% and its a significantly lower balance than the national average.

I'm so happy to live in Quebec, Canada. Here, people don't have student debts because its very cheap to go to college and have a quality degree. Its the society that pays a tax so everyone can have a chance to go to college, even if you are kind of poor.
