The Ferrari 458 Italia will always be the greatest production car ever made. If I ever become rich, I'm buying one.

Great video and guide! I own a 2015 and maintain it myself, and you covered all the major potential issues.

I have a 2011 458 Italia, 54, 000 km. Absolutely love the car! No issues. The only maintenance has been regular oil changes (and the brake system recall - although never had an issue there either).

I've never seen a 458 with the Crema leather combined with red carpet. That is brilliant!

Buying one tomorrow morning.. a very good and detailed video, although I've heard'em all before I appreciate the way you present it all to us.

458 spider, 2015. Had a clutch sensor go out after driving in stop-and-go traffic in 90deg (F) weather with the AC on. took over $9k to have that fixed. Car has otherwise been a champ, doing a track day with no issues. I do get worried with heavy traffic in the heat though so that is something to think about not that anyone is thinking of commuting in these. Overall, even with the clutch sensor repair, the CPO warranty would NOT have been worth it in my case. Id say that the 458 is worth the price since you are getting a gorgeous italian supercar that sounds fantastic (better than a 488 GTB, spider has the best sound) and has more than enough power for the overwhelming majority of drivers on public roads. One other item for spiders: any convertible will have a bit of vibration because you lose the frame rigidity that a fixed roof provides. I bought my car used with the nearly new Pirelli tires (the OEM ones). The car would have a noticeable vibration around 70mph on highways, particularly with the top down. Pretty annoying. I tried everything with tire balancing and whatnot. The thing that seemed to fix this was new tires, and specifically Michelin 4S tires. I have no affiliation or interest with the Michelin company, but the word out there is that they make extremely round an consistent tires. That may be the fix in this case though I suppose that I would need to try a set of new Pirelli tires again to determine that. Just an FYI for anyone out there with a similar issue. This car is fantastic and it certainly is worth the price. This is my favorite car. As crazy as it sounds I have 3 other friends like me (non billionaires, we arent filthy rich) that have scraped together the cash to get 458s and they love them as well. Funny, none of them have had any issue with the transmission, and they are all earlier model years. As far as I can tell, this is up there with the F355 and maybe even the F40 as far as some of the best cars from Ferrari.

Quite well done.

A serious review without much unnecessary talking.

Subscribed. And (!!!) for Scottish I could understand (for once) very well.

Thanks Alex.! Great drill, Ive never seen before. Perhaps another point that could help some get to the left side is the pushing off with the right leg, focusing on right glute extension at finish...

Great video, watched even though I am not looking to buy a 458. Nice camera work!

The problem with many of the gearbox issues is that even the repair (as opposed to replacement) involves buying an entire pack of sensor components (even if just one sensor is bad) - and that pack is something around the £10, 000 mark. Oh, and Ferrari isn't exactly great at keeping up sensor production. So at some point, finding replacement sensors will likely become an issue, too..

The best advice with a 458 purchase is to get one with a Ferrari Power Warranty attached, or get one independently (about 3 grand - and that's AFTER Ferrari main dealer says the car is OK.. 💸💸)

What a car and clearly cherished by its owner - looks like it's just rolled out the factory.

did you mention the DCT gearbox failures? Lots are failing now due to AGE not mileage; my 2011 just failed last week 6/24, going for "surgery" next week. Loss of pressure no even gears or reverse. These DCT failure are now costing us between $8-20k to fix :( for all getrag transmission from 2009-2018)

Lovely guide, as always. Really like your stuff. But could you improve your audio?

thats why you buy a 2013 model year as they are very hackable, also you need to look out for carbon seats, front lift and carbon fibre exterior bits,

My 2014 458 had gearbox issues so it can happen on newer cars as well.

I’d be happy with one of those burnt down models.

Hi mate, I have two questions. 1. I am 6"4 in your opinion would I be able to fit into this Super Car? You don't look so tall and your head is very close to the roof. 2. Can you customize a second-hand Ferarri? I was told customization is reserved for brand-new cars only.

Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Damn, was about to buy a 2011 model and chevked up on these points. Saved me millions. Rather just buy a 2020 gtr or 2019 SVJ
