When decluttering before a move, instead of asking yourself "does this spark joy, " ask yourself "do I want to spend money in order to keep this?" You'll make your decisions more quickly and you will see the donation pile balloon.

There is no point in paying to transport belongings when you don't even want them but hold onto them for "what if" reasons. Spending money to transport belongings is a guarantee, so fuck the "what if" reasons for keeping something you don't love.

I'm not planning to move for another year or so but I'm already preparing for the process. Decluttering things now, avoiding buying things I don't need, hoarding boxes. Hopefully this will make the process easier when the time comes to finally leave!
