My heart is in pain, brain spinning, body reeling ... National Elections for the Agroenvironmental Council and three other bodies of the Bolivian Judicial System just began. Today bolivians will elect magistrates in a country wrecked by environmental injustice and tragedy.

This year alone we've lost between 10 to 14 million hectares -- about the size of Cuba or Island -- of rainforest, wetlands, and grasslands and estimates of at least 20 million mammals, along with uncountable numbers of insects, massive trees, and precious amazonian, andean and chaco ecosystems, to raging megafires and greedy land-grabbing interests.

And even so, the political machine clouds out common sense and the severity of the environmental policrisis here and across our one planet.

And yet, there is hope -- and videos like this one and the work of Spinoza, Naess, and Mary Jane all are tributaries in a growing river of awakening human consciousness ...
