Drone Fishing For Tuna Northern NSW
Показать описание
Drone fishing for northern blue fin tuna a.k.a longtail tuna,
When a day with the kids turns into an epic fishing mission!
Got the call from my good mate Byron Leal @sea ulcer “tuna are here” couldn’t get the kids loaded in the car quick enough, 🚗💨 we arrived at our rocky headland, whilst running up the headland with the kids in tow, I realise in my haste to leave I had left my footwear behind.
We make it to the top of the headland to greetings from Byron saying “they are here, they are here mate” so with no time to spare we made our way to the bottom of the ledge sat the kids down in a safe spot and told them to watch the action,
We hook our bait on and run it out within minutes of arriving, so i havnt had had chance to catch my breath from the rush up here then next thing you know the tuna slams the bait and its game on.
This is where drone fishing is in a total element of its own, firstly we wouldn’t even know these fish were passing us any other given day if we didn’t have the advantage of being in the sky (birds eye view).
Secondly thanks to the great invention from Jaiden and Byron @Sea Ulcer now we have the perfect deliverly system.
Now this is where the Skyrigger attachment really plays its part as also these fish are out of casting range and moving quite quickly so with this attachment we are able to attach a line to the drone and deliver the line out to our desired fishing spot which just happens to be right on this longtail tunas nose and it takes the bait, when the fish strikes the skyrigger releases the line and it’s up to the angler now to fight the fish.
Drone: DJi phantom 4 pro
Sky rigger attachment from @Sea Ulcer
Rod: crucis two piece over head 12ft
Reel: Shimano TLD25
Line: Berkley Pro spec x8 50lb approx 850mtrs
Leader: Blackmagic 80lb supple
