Here's a look at the differences between my old 1997 Dodge Viper GTS and a brand-new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR. I also drove the Viper ACR and reviewed it.

Viper was never made with an automatic, it's just thoroughly dedicated to the manual experience. Nobody ever offered power pedals or even cared other than the Viper.

2nd gen Viper, especially the 1997-1999 ones, used to be one of my dream cars. Then the love for Vipers disappeared over time for various reasons and it only came back with the 5th gen. It makes me sad to know that Viper production has come to an end.

Perhaps we will see them return one day. Camaro made a return and maybe this iconic car will return when it is time.

I prefer the look of the old one, don't get me wrong the new one is very nice but I can't help but feel it looks too similar to a Corvette.
