Thank you so much, you're definitely pro and have great craftsmanship, I've been painting 22 years myself and have luckily got to be mentored by excellent painter's, most of them have retired or moved on, I actually learned the dust pan technique from a lady painter who was phenomenal, usually carry two maskers around with me and especially if I'm doing millwork, I have one masker with quick release tape and my second masker I have just blond tape, of course I use the quick release on walls and ceilings and then I can use the other masker on top of the paper without worrying about ripping texture off and drywall, Lord knows I've had to do unnecessary repairs many times. I also don't pre-tape, I was taught how to run a straight line and I pre-tape tape on top if its crooked or up in corners, I make sure it's not stair stepped because you'll see the millage build up, I make sure it's lined up with my masking, you pull your masking in the end and it lift's the tape at the same time, you're unmasking once, not twice. Thank you so much for everything you do for us. Sincerely Lorenzo gig harbor WA.

Been watching you a while now and really enjoy your channel, AND . . . really enjoy what I'm learning from you! Thank you for what you do and mostly your enthusiasm and pride in your craftmanship of work! You work so clean, consistently, organized, efficient and such a perfectionist . . . definitely what I call "the" PRO! I'm inspired by everything you share so happily! Just turned 60 yrs. old (my profile photo is 17 years younger now), but I'm still heavily doing DIY projects and soon to be doing my first ever repairs and painting on my 23 yr. old 2-story home exterior. I know I've got quite the monstrous project to tackle, but I know I can do it! Your TIPS are definitely very much appreciated my friend. I'm a petite lady, but strong as a mule still, and definitely have the tools, and better than average know-how to tackle any projects I'm willing to learn . . . not the average female for sure. As an artist and multimedia business woman, I not only enjoy your athleticism in your work -- because that is what it truly is, . . . but you also have such a sincere character about you that comes through on camera! ;-) I sure enjoy problem solving and building things too, and really enjoy restoration and preservation of things - - including recycling & repurposing. I have a great appreciation for SKILLS when I see it. ;-) Continued blessings and success in what you do, because it does make a difference to even someone like me who you may never even meet. YOU'RE AWESOME FRIEND!

I just bought a tape masker today for a paint project. Something so simple as a make shift dust pan. Too easy! I would have grabbed a loose piece of cardboard which never completely works. Thanks for the tips!

For dust collection we use a vac. Fast so cheaper than paper and broom (we have a small Milwaukee battery vac for quick vacs or a festool big vac for everyday). Ceiling fans we use plastic over the whole thing then reuse or recycle the plastic. Screws etc we use and reuse ziplock plastic bags (put a bit of tape on them and write on that. We leave the bag in the corner of the room the screws came from to make it easier to put them back (unless they are identical hinge screws and hinges and there are a lot of them, they go in a bucket)). Not sure what you were doing with the handrail unless it was to cover it when spraying the ceiling. If you were spraying the wall, take the handrail off. Dust collection for cutting on walls looked cool. Or just put a drop sheet on the floor or vac after.

Diaper or nappy bags are great for spot lights on ceilings before spraying. Pop them down, pop them in, can be used on sockets and plugs to. Cheap and handy.

I love the homemade dustpan tip. We always clean up after we paint inside a customer's home. I can't tell you how many times I couldn't find a dustpan.

You could use 14” paper on the fan blades and tape it to itself, full wrap around. Then u don’t have to worry about pulling paint off the fan, or using green tape.

I gotta add my experience on the fan taping…. Before seeing this video, I did exactly what’s listed here (green frog tape) and both ceiling fans had finish lift off when I removed the protection. Sprayed the ceiling and wanted to protect them both. Going forward, I recommend sheathing the entire fan blade so that the tape applies to the paper and not the blade. Now I have to buy new blades.
