Guys !!!! Listen to your heart and commit to the MBA. I left a grueling office job, full of long hrs and constantly churning out campaign ideas 24/7. Generally good video, though I wanted to add a little on “good” points 2 and 3. Career switching can and is often done, but it works much better in some fields than others. Consulting and banking like career switchers. Hedge funds, private equity and most corporate roles not so much.

Related to career switching, MBAs can give some skills, but not anything like real life experience. So people hiring you typically won’t necessarily put too much value on the education itself but rather your potential.

Haha, I'm an executive for a fortune 500 company. I wanted to get my MBA for the heck of it. Getting in to a good school was easy. When the school has a fortune 500 executive in their student body and my company pays 100%, they waived most requirements.

3 good reasons from the AdCom perspective:
1. This MBA is the missing piece in your career trajectory
2. Career switching- just lay out a plan to inform admissions how the MBA will help you make the switch
3. You're filling a specific skills gap.

3 wrong reasons
1. It's a notch on your belt
2. You're already in an MBA role
3. My career is stagnant so I might as well do an MBA
