I have a chevy Equinox for work. I sent it to the shop to replace the radiator. I noticed the coolant they put in now is Green and found it odd. I call the mechanic and he said is fine. I want to take it back and tell him to flush it and fill it up with the correct Dex-cool.

The way it works is if you put extended life antifreeze with
Green coolant . It is the conventional coolant (Ethylene Glycol base) and is the most popularly used coolant it will lose its extended life span . Red coolant typically has a base of Organic Acid Technology which is designed to be more suitable for aluminium radiators.if mixed they will not clump and any antifreeze is better than no antifreeze in a pinch .you can always flush and replace later .antifreeze should be changed every 3 yrs as it builds up acid and eats away at heater cores ect. hope this helps .

I’m confuse because why would it be neon green?

Is it coolant or engine oil?

Neon green is used to check and fill AC units it might be a leak in your refrigerant lines.

Death Cool eats seals/gaskets and junks up. Immediately removed it from my 3800 Lacrosse and replaced it with universal green.

How about using Prestone All Vehicles instead of Dexcool

Will it hurt to run Prestone in my 07 Rendezvous? I hate Dexcool! It leaves a film on the inside of the radiator. Just replaced the radiator and flushed with distilled water.

GM Dexcool uses deionized water while the brands that copy it use distilled water.

THE SHIT THAT TURNS INTO A DARK BROWN SLUDGY COMPOSITE WHEN I GOES THROUGH THE ENGINE WITH OR WITH OUT COMBINING CONVENTIONAL ANTIFREEZES. This was a bad idea for GM. Just because you haven't yet doesn't mean you won't. Flush your coolant once a year because this shit isn't made to last as long as your standard green and yellow. They know it and it's why you keep paying for they're incompetence.
