Wow. I was so blessed by this teaching. I work in social services. I have been a case worker for many years. Oftentimes, almost daily, I have encounters with strangers where I am approached for help or just conversation. Sometimes I initiate the conversations. But sometimes, if I am honest, I don't feel like talking or being particularly helpful that day. I would see it as an inconvenience. I would say to myself maybe they sense the social worker in me and that's why they approach me. After hearing this teaching I now see those times as opportunities to show God's love. Perhaps it's God leading them to me. Now I will pray that God continue to inconvenience me. Gb.

I was eleven when I knew what love is. When I accepted a free Bible from Gideon. Or was I 5 when they made me pray in school? Or at 23 crying over a handmade wooden cross in outpatient psychiatric services? I chose love.

This chapter is very misunderstood by many. The Love Paul talks about in this chapter is the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT found in the book of Galatians 5:22. No one before becoming a Christian can experience this love and even since God is Love, or this is how his being is, and we are being transformed into his likeness, our own substance is also love but it starts very small. The parable of the talents depicts that at conversion, we are given a small degree of being or love and we grow in being and consequently in love. This love is not something we do but how our being is, so as Paul says, if I have all faith or power, or knowledge but I have not grown in love or in being, then I am nothing, basically I am still empty and lacking, only if my being grows my love grows. We know the magnitude of God’s love because of what He did in Jesus Christ, but we don’t know how it is to be a being that loves so much to be able to forgive us this way, as our being grows in the Lord, the more we experience this Love because we are being transformed into it, because this is what God is.

I find it ironic that a lot of these churches seem to skip over first Corinthians 14
