External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on November 24 addressed the pre-launch celebration of the international year of millets 2023. Speaking at the event, Jaishankar said India is the world’s largest producer of millet, and added that the country produced “almost 20% of the world’s millet.” He further said that India was eager to take the Indian year of millets to the world stage and transform it into the “international year of millets.”
