I absolutely love Leon Wilkeson's bass line on this. It really makes it boogie right along.

skynyrd was the background to our lives in the 70's growing up southern boys, and they summed up the southern spirit with this one...great reaction...you can never go wrong with ronnie and the gang

Southern boogie rock! "You Got That Right" got plenty of radio play back in the day. And with those piano pyros and that guitar wizardry, how could it not?

I heard Ronnie told his dad he wouldn't live past 30. And, when the album came out because of the flames on the cover being on Ronnie and Steve the next batch they printed, the flames were taken off them because of their deaths.

One of their most fun and genius written songs…Billy Powell on keyboards is a beast.

The greatest Southern Rock ever. The way they mixed up elements of Country, Rock n Roll and Blues and created their amazing sound.

That album cover was the the original when we first saw it come out. After the crash, the flames were taken off and the newer cover reissued. Those original covers are definitely sought after by vinyl collectors and fans as tragic, yet historical, artifacts of Southern Rock
Music.

Im glad you learnt the back history on the bands and its members. It makes you feel closer to the music to be able to understand the history. ❤

How underrated is Billy Powell’s contribution to this track on keys? He was such a key ingredient to so many of these songs. Biz, if you can, check the live version of this from 1977 Convention Hall.

I was fortunate enough to see them live twice in 1976. They were really hitting their stride before the tragic plane crash. RIP Ronnie, Steve and Cassie.
