Bookmark sync for Google Chrome

For those of you who use several computers -- for example, a laptop at work and a desktop at home -- you've asked for a way to keep your Google Chrome bookmarks in sync across multiple computers. Google Chrome allows you to do just that! You can keep your Google Chrome bookmarks synchronized and up-to-date across the multiple computers you use, without needing to manually recreate your bookmarks every time you use a different computer.

It has changed - now when you singinto chrome - the first screen give you the option to synchronise your bookmarks, passwords and history. Worked very well for me.

I spent *months*, thinking something was wrong with me or my computer, come to find out the bookmarks are synced to Google Docs.

The fact that it doesn't sync to something called GOOGLE BOOKMARKS and chooses to sync to GOOGLE DOCS without TELLING me, made my brain explode.

OMG! He actually bragged about working in Google Chrome Dept, went to the wrench pulldown and opted for "Synchronize my bookmarks."

No such animal here in 2011!

Opera browser has done this for years and syncs loads of other stuff. Much better.

@lolnameless It doesn't suck, but it could be better I think. They should use tabs as well as folders for the bookmarks and hopefully there will be a plugin for firefox compatible with the bookmarks.

Yes. That blows my mind, too. Why have Chrome Bookmarks when there's already "Google Bookmarks", which work incredibly well.

Did you find a good extension in Chrome that acts like GMarks in Firefox?

I do not want my home bookmarks to sync with my work PC.  How do you fix it so it does not do this.

To be honest, I just tried to do this and it practically reverted my bookmarks back to the set I had last YEAR. Just use Xmarks...it's easier.

@labobo Yeah extension wise and feature wise firefox is well ahead. Main problem with firefox now is that it's a single thread application. With many tabs open this can be a problem if they have many different plugins.

1- You can go to all famous websites that you used to go to, by one single click. Sites like:
Google, YouTube, Facebook, Hotmail, Gmail, Twitter, Wikipedia, …
2- MyWholeLinks com reminds you with all the Links (URL) you deal with especially the long ones which we have to go through many pages to get to, like:

3- You can Categorize your bookmarks into as many categories as you want to use them anytime anywhere.

For anyone not seeing new bookmarks on your mobile device. Open Chrome on Mobile Device>New Tab>Settings Icon>Settings>Your Account Name and Avatar> Turn on "Chrome to Mobile". In case some of you were looking for this specific situation...

This feature needs two things: integration with existing Google Bookmarks / Notebook and the ability to share bookmarks folders with other users (just like everything else in Google Docs).
