Who else lost it when she said “the first person to ever care about me”?

"The first person to ever care about me." That broken little girl inside of us never goes away. She's so blessed to have someone like him to care about her the way he did and still does.

Consistently on every Spielberg movie no child has ever said they didn’t feel safe. Child actors on a Spielberg movie grow into adults that still love and respect him and his film crew. He truly cares for children. He saved Drew without even knowing he did.

This is a big thing, Steven rarely does these types of shows, he must really love Drew.

he’s even got framed pictures of her and shows them off like a proud dad, that’s so sweet 😭❤️

The second she realized he was going to make an appearance, Drew regressed into that adorable little girl we all fell in love with. She's one of those people you couldn't imagine everyone not loving her and yet she has had to face difficulties few of us could ever relate to or understand. Her success after overcoming the horrors of her childhood is a true testament to her strength and she inspires people everyday with it.

She literally grew up infront of the tv. The fact that she got her life together like this at this point is a monumental achievement of hers.

My heart BROKE when she said “the first person to ever care about me”.💔💔 It’s amazing she loves her parents, after all, but it’s clear these people failed her in so many ways! 😩😭

The way she started tearing up thinking about how much she loved him even BEFORE she realized he was the guest

When so many directors and producers have been accused of abuse, it is so good to hear a director who truly cares.

This is so pure. I'm so glad Drew had him in her life as a young person. It sounds like he made the difference in her getting on the right track

I've never seen Steven Spielberg interviewed before, he seems like a lovely guy and I think he sees Drew as a daughter. Lovely interview.

This is how adults in Hollywood should behave toward children actors!

Drew is actually a national treasure. So raw and genuine and bright. She deserves all of the love.

The thing I love about Drew is she never lost that child like innocence. It's such a beautiful quality to see in a grown woman.

“He was the first person to care about me” That was so heartbreaking to hear. It shouldn’t be that way. Your mother and father should be the first people to care about you but but Drew seemingly didn’t have that much like most other child stars.

I used to work in a clothing store in Manhattan and Drew walked in one day. I helped her find what she was looking for. She was the sweetest customer I've ever helped.

When Drew cries, I cry. Because she doesn't cry in that fake way. It's real and its the essence of deep, authentic feeling which is healthy and healing. She is vulnerable like a child. I'm deeply moved by her story and her her emotional realness.

She had zero adult supervision when she was a child. She was an alcoholic at 12. Kudos to Speilberg for being a parent to her.
