In today’s video, I present similarities between the one-handed and two-handed backhand and explain why the 2-H BH is not like a lefty forehand.

This conversation helped me grasp how to put my own two-handed backhand together. Thanks, Nick. Super helpful. 👍🏼

Yess, when i started to hit it like not lefty forehand my backhand started to hit much better. I started to think like 2hb is compact 1hb with left hand help. It works for me perfect

Nick we are in the middle of a GS and we don't have any of your tennis rants

Hey Nick, great video as always! 😊
Can you make a video about the most common errors on the 2 handed backhand? On of my left-handed students struggles with it and hits the ball often with the bottom frame. I can't detect the problem though.

Hey Coach Nick! The one hander is looking very nice.

When you finish, are you actively stabilizing your wrist with your muscles? Or is your finish the result of proper technique?

When I finish my racket kinda whips around as a result of the momentum, I'm wondering if this is fine? I personally think your finish looks much nicer than mine

as a one hander backhand player I can say: do not make the same mistake!

Hey Nik, great video, totally agree.

According to this, would you say it makes sense to teach beginners a 1hbh first and then move to a 2hbh later (if it seems necessary)?

Hi Nick! Sorry unrelated to this video, but I have been wondering about a serve concept. I have an up together serve (lag just doesn't work for me), and I see lots of coaches saying the proper serve backswing will be led by the elbow (i.e. feel like you are elbowing someone behind you). However, I also notice that these coaches all have abbreviated or lagged backswings, and looking at pros with up together (e.g. Wawrinka, Raonic) it seems to me they do not lead with the elbow. I am thinking that leading with elbow while using up together will just reduce your loop and force you to pause/lose momentum. Thoughts?

I just can’t do a 2 handed backhand well . Ball always goes 50 ft into the air . Just feels so awkward

I had never learned the two-handed backhand. Have been playing with the one-hander for a hundred years.
*When I try it out now, it feels very awkward and difficult, despite the many similarities!*
I suspect that transitioning from one-handed to two-handed is far more difficult than transitioning from two-handed to one-handed.

Did you really do the lefty forehand or mirrored your forehand ?

I feel that the right armpit opens only when the right hand leads the swing.

One-Handed is special! And Nikola who's your favourite to win Roland Garros?

Where is the RANT?? so much to discuss.

I can play both, like the OBH for quick shots but generally use the 2HBH - is more stable and less error prone.

playing with 1 hander is playing the game on Hard mode, do not make sens if youre competitive. but its fun.

when i watch atp, every time i see a 1hander its such a big weakness.
