How To Reset A Hunter X-Core Irrigation Controller

In this video, Clint shows us how to hard reset a Hunter X-Core Irrigation controller. Resetting a Hunter X-Core is easy. To reset the irrigation controller, all you need to do is press the negative, the hand and the program keys at the same time, then use a small tool to press in the small reset button on the side of your controller. A small screwdriver or a pen will do the trick. Then, when the clock starts flashing '12:00', your X-Core irrigation controller has been successfully reset.

THANK YOU! I did what I ALWAYS do and went out to the controller with 1/2 information. It didn't work so this time I actually WATCHED. When you stuck that device in a little hole on the right side of the unit I wondered why. I found a short enough, skinny enough device (I think it was a nail) and did all three things at once as you said to do. IT WORKED THIS TIME! Thank you!!

Thank you for posting this video. My screen was blank. I held the reset buttons in for at least 10 seconds but didn't see any results right away. I returned about 20 minutes later and all appears to be OK now. Yeah!

Hi and thank you for your video. I have recently moved into a home that has a hunter xc. I have set start and days time.. Last night the sprinkler went on at 8:00 p.m. which I did not set on station c however on the control panel I cannot find it to erase it so I was wondering if you could help me and hope you can understand what I'm talking about lol

I just moved to greenville sc, and am wondering how to winterize or simply shut down my Hunter x core underground lawn sprinkler . I have a BIB valve in the garage and also a water controller at the edge of the yard. I was thinking that all I need to do is cut of the BIB valve in the garage. OR do I need to also cut off the water supply at the yard? Also is there a need to run any of the zones in the yard ( I have 6 zones on .30 acre) Thank you for any details.

My controller is about a year old (X-Core 4) I wanted to reset it because it wasn't holding start times. I've tried all the methods I've seen on YouTube, no luck. I've tried holding just the Program and the reset, holding the Minus, Hand and Prog buttons at the same time, then reset... still no luck! Thoughts...

My display just says off in the Run mode. Every setting I change it to, it still says off. The system will not reset. Please help.

I did a reset and it only changed the time to 12:00am. It doesn’t flash so that I could set the correct time. And when I change the dial to a different position, it still stays on the time only. No change at all. And no sprinklers are functioning. It’s only 4 years old. Is it a goner?

You have to hold the buttons for close to 10 seconds. Tried and failed multiple times before it reset

my x-core hunter controller is blank! nothing shows up on the display. I've replaced battery and the outlet has power. Did the controller somehow get fried in last night's horrible storm? anything else i cn do?

You just have to hold program button while you press reset for 3 seconds
