Both sides are different because they have different slopes. The pink side is a bit flatter than the blue side. It's for that more rollercoaster feeling.

with 200cc, if you get fast enough, you don't even need a mushroom or hopping(just don't get too close to the center and you should pass through without stopping your drift)

It’s different because one end you’re going down (more time in the air) whereas the other side you’re going up (less time in the air)

Maybe Nintendo made the blue and pink sides different just so people would stop calling Baby Park a "lazy track" :P
