I Googled how to make my own acoustic panels. Got everything at Lowes at about 50% of what it would be retail. While heavy curtains/drapes over windows help a lot there is a BIG difference between acoustic panels and hanging towels like somebody said on this post. While you don't have to spend a thousand dollars a couple of hundred for a good size room is cheap for what you get back in sonic return. If your going to record in the room or do critical listening you will hear a difference.
