NAVI: 2022 Honda Navi First Refuel // Fuel Economy = ???

Today is Wednesday, January 5, 2022. I ran the NAVI down to reserve this evening, so it's time for the first refuel and to check the MPG numbers!

The NAVI's first tank economy wasn't spectacular, but that's not really surprising to me. The flame-out and subsequent restart when switching over to reserve was a bit unusual, though.

Most carbureted bikes will give you a little bit of warning before completely giving up, but the NAVI died completely. I tried a rolling restart after switching to reserve, but it didn't work. I had to stop completely and crank the engine for ~5 seconds to reprime the carburetor. That could be problematic in busy traffic. I'll be practicing rolling restarts to figure out the best method to prevent complete flameouts and stop/start situations.

For Having a plus one most the miles that is actually pretty impressive. These bikes are probably tested with a 100lb rider from Honda to calculate the mileage.

I just dropped by my dealership last Thursday. Still no notice of shipment on our NAVI. It will be interesting to see what kind of mileage you get after confirming a full tank and a few more break-in miles.

Curious how far off the speedo is if any? That combined with the dealer not filling it plum full, plus it not being broken in plus all that headwind riding you had done and the 2/3 up riding you did on that tank…the fuel mileage may not be very far off of where it should be 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve been watching all of your Navi vids, my dude. My favorite part about this bike is the minimalism - carbureted, air/fan cooled, no abs, etc etc. I’m a Harley guy (ride a Road King Special) but would love one of these in the forest green color. Hello ! . I got 110 km without reserve and 115 with reserve using 95 octanes gasoline and average speed of 60-70 km/h, the way you ride can affect a little bit the miles that you get too. 🤔

Did you know there is a fuel filler cap holder in front of the fill 🕳 hole, did not see you put it there. I have 35 miles on mine Allready went on an adventure with my cousin, he has an SV650 and filled it up at a little above half a tank but i used Premium gas ⛽️. Havent noticed idling issues on mine.

I really like the bike but I hate the carburetor. I just don’t know how to fix it and plus I hate the smell. I think I might get a grom, but that’s double the price.

That little circle near the gas hole is a gas cap holder :).

The Navi has a 0.9 gallon tank and a mpg of 132.6 so not bad other than it having a carburetor 👍 best to use unleaded Ethanol for the bike it has some protection against the engine sputtering
