TODAY IS THE DAY!
I picked up my EQA 300 from the dealership! When the Mercedes sales representative wanted to take me through the car I politely declined and told him that I had gotten a thorough introduction to the EQA/ EQ series by an English gentleman who happened to be a colleague of his. Thank you for what you're doing, Nick. You lead me through the prolonged wait for my car. Keep doing what you're doing, we appreciate you.

Thanks for all the videos!

I do not like Active Lane Keeping Assist. It has scared me many times.

1. When I have to overtake, I use turn signals. But when I drive back, I do not. Then the car brakes and keeps the car in the opposite direction. Terrible when approaching an oncoming car!

2. When I drive on a narrow road and meet another car, I keep to the side. Then the car brakes and keeps the car in the middle of the road. I get scared!

I appreciate when it thumps in the steering wheel. It is enough for a safe journey.

I dont want to sound like a wise-ass but ESP isnt used to prevent wheels to spin but to create counter moment around car center of gravity to keep your car in control not to drift. It applies braking to a specific wheel to create a counter moment to balance the car. Thats why you can not drift while ESP is on.

Never felt the steering wheel wobble as a warning, but I can definitely concur that the 'jolt' is severe and quite scary.

Good video again Nick. Scared the life out of me when I first got the car, I passed a wall with no pavement, I had gone past a hundred times and it braked and swerved me away from it. It makes you always use the indicators when changing lane which is a good thing though. The red warnings are good if your wheel is near a kerb when parking has saved any scraped wheels too.

Just bought my Mercedes E class on 4th of July '22 and all your videos are highly useful Nick. Most of the times I am glued to your videos. And yet a long way to go for me. Keep your good work going.

Great vid as always. Your the only channel that does mercedes videos so clearly and current. Love this feature on my car also and never turn it off. Can't see why you would. There needs to be more of them in cars as it forces drivers to actually use their indicator!!

Thanks for this vid, had a bit of a shock on the M25 today and pulled into the hard shoulder 😅 was puzzled at first but seems obvious in hindsight

Hello. I think that rumbling you are referring to is not enough on my EQA. Well it doesn’t keep me on my lane. Just that slight feel, but it doesn’t slightly guide you back to your lane like my other car Toyota Rav 4, which also trickers an acoustic warning also.
It happened that it interfered more tense when the white line was continuous. And I think was quite good.

Thanks for this.I have just changed from a GLA200 2024 to a GLA250E for income tax reasons. The GLA200 actually stored you back into lane. The GLA250E does what your car does. I thought the 250E was faulty. I also noticed the Park Assist on the 250E is crap. I hardly picks up any spaces. I was always a bit scary on the 200 anyway. I was worried it would shove the car out into traffic so I rarely used it.

Hi Nick, would love to see a video on active brake assist or adaptive brake assist. My car does have it however it only appears to brake in emergency situations rather than actively braking when getting closer to a car in front. Would be great to see a video on what the difference is and why some cars have one or the other.

Thanks Nick. I’ve have had my 2019 A class AMG saloon since December but this feature doest not work on my car, it’s set to standard but no warnings or interventions occur when going over a white line. I’ve followed your guidance and seeing the symbol change to green, but nothing. I’ve got a recall coming up soon for updating the power steering management on the system - so I will get them to check it out then while it’s still under warranty. Keep up the great work and I’m learning so much about my new car and features from your channel👍

Really well done I was wondering about that myself, if I may ask I have a 2022 Mercedes S580 is my system the same as the one in this video or does it have more capabilities or a different capabilities? Do you have a video that focuses more on my model for this issue? Thank you again for all you do look forward to hearing from you if possible

Thanks for the video! Informative as always. Say if I change it to sensitive, will is stay there when I next turn the engine on? Or does it default back to standard?

I love it on the motorway when Distronic + is turned on.

Dreadful device... A week after I bought my AMG last year I was driving on narrow motorway lanes along the M27 when there was a length of roadworks. The lanes were (temporarily) narrowed down and speed restricted to 50mph. Travelling along the centre lane within the speed limit, I passed an HGV driving on the inside lane. In that instance the cats eyes were located in the normal lane widths and my nearside wheel was tracking along them even though the lane lines were blacked out. Suddenly and without warning the car lurched to the right under auto assist almost into the side of a vehicle on my right narrowly avoiding a serious accident, Scared the life out of me. Now every time I get in the car it gets turned off..

Another great video Nick, thank you very much. Quick question, does Mercedes have a lane assist feature that actively steers and keep you in lane similarly to Audi's Lane guidance or Kia's Lane follow assist. These two keep you in lane with minimal input from the driver. You do have to touch the wheel every 10 seconds or so though. I tried asking my local Mercedes dealer about this and they were not too sure.

Thanks for another great video Nick - very well explained and demonstrated 👌

Mercedes should have created a shortcut to turn this off at will like I’ve seen on a Kia. When driving on highways being repaved or expanded here in the US, the sensors are tricked by the old lane markings, while I’m intentionally following the new lane lines. My 2022 GLC used the brakes to jolt me back into what it thought was the right lane, in such a rough manner that it almost caused a collision with other cars properly following the temporary lane markers. I can’t be fiddling around with the MBUX Settings menus when driving at 55 mph.
