I'm not paying 300$ for 20$ worth of brass lol

I feel like we are just months away from Rolleiflex 2.8 resurrection or Zeiss Super Ikonta 80 2.8, I wonder how old vs new price would compare, cause those olde go for crazy prices and most likely will need CLA/Repair. Also I would defenitely enjoy digital TLR with 6x6 sensor, or at least 6x4.5. Some authors argue that such a complex mechanical device would cost mere $7k to manufacture. Contemporary 3d printing and cnc should def help, plus optics advanced a litte too

I think it’s not reasonable price but it’s gorgeous if you have money to throw away🤷🏻‍♂️

I think the Soviets created their own version of this lens, because some of the (pre M1) Leica styled Fed and Zorki cameras come with a very similar looking collapsible lens.

$300 for a lens seems too steep, I'll stick with my vintage finds under $100. Vintage lenses have character and quality without breaking the bank.

Leica M is a fantastic mount option, given that it works with even Sony FZ mount (which is what I'll move to eventually since all my lenses are compatible with adapters)

I remember when photography was about the photographs, not expensive bad lenses

There's nothing reasonable in paying 800+ for 50mm/2. You can get a Leica for cheaper than that.

Why is it super easy to tell it's your video?
The colouring feels unique

I have a collapsible summicron I got for cheap because the coating had failed. I got lucky - the glass was flawless. Found a place to recoat it and I had a lens with perfect glass that was 50 years old. It’s a lovely shooter, as everyone knows. The fixed ones sell for more. Never understood that. The elements are identical as I understand it.

If it’s a replica then it’s not a “unique design”

Worth mentioning: clickless aperture. That makes it a no-go for me, so thought so may appreciate the info.

asahi lenses are, in my opinion, the best vintage lenses to buy.

That is actually so cool imagine seeing a REALLY old lens on a really new camera I would love it

They're really taking the "pay more, get less" to the next level. Though I guess that was to be expected from something targeted towards Leica owners...

or for basically the same price as the brass one, Nikon 50 f1.8s. Granted, the nikon is larger and has a different look

How does one even adapt all these vintages lenses to the new mounts?

I need to buy a Leica M camera body if I need to enjoy this lens. 😢
