Oral Minoxidil For Hair Loss? What You Need to Know

preview_player
Показать описание
Minoxidil has been a hair loss treatment since the late 80's, but most people use it in a topical form which was originally marketed as Rogaine. Rogaine has been used by both men and women with variable success. Minoxidil is seeing a resurgence as an oral therapy for hair loss.

When taken orally minoxidil can lower your blood pressure, but can be quite effective in promoting hair growth. I recommend seeing a board certified dermatologist to discuss all the risks and benefits of this therapy.

As someone who has studied this extensively for years, this was very thorough and concise. You didn't draw it out, nor did you leave anything out. This is an amazing educational video for all men looking to learn about their options.

I take 5 mg a day of minoxidil and 1 mg finasteride three times a week and no side effects except hair growth

I’m playing it safe due to planning on doing this for life until I’m probably 70 or so and no longer care. I only take 3.3 mg of oral Finasteride and 9 mg of oral Minoxidil per week. I use a derma roller and 5mg Minoxidil foam on my days off of oral on the bald spots. Zero side effects and amazing results! Start small and stick to it for at least a year!!! There is zero need for taking a dose daily! It’s over kill and you can still achieve 90% of the same results with less than half the dose but with consistent routine while NOT affecting your health.

I heard about Joe Rogan a long time ago, but never knew he can stop hair loss, I will never skip an episode from now on.

if you have high blood pressure (over 14-8) and hairloss, trying it may not be a bad idea. high blood pressure is a way more bigger problem than hairfall.

Why not just make synthetic sulfurtransferase enzyme (or something like it) and administer it with the Rogaine? Or add it to the Rogaine immediately before use to activate it, much like mixing hair dye with developer to activate the dye before using it?

I was doing topical minoxidil for a few wks but caused a very nasty rash on forehead and scalp. Switched to oral finasteride and been on it for 3 wks now w no adverse effects.

Too soon obviously to talk abt results and at age 65, trying to manage my expectations 😂

Also considering taking a trip to Turkey for a transplant but on the fence about that one.

Would love to see a discussion about the subject with a cardiologist...

Is minoxidil available commercially in the dosage used for hair loss? As a pharmacist, I kind of panicked getting my 1st prescription of it from a dermatologist… it was at blood pressure reducing dose. When we prescribe minoxidil for severe hypertension, it needs to be associated to a beta blocker to make sure there’s no rebound tachycardia and to a diuretic become water retention

I was getting bald when i was a teen. From 15 to 22 I used minoxidil at 8% topically as many times as i wanted daily, more than one for sure, but i cant say how many times i used it. I kept loosing hair, but i thought that if I stopped using it it would be worse. Then i said a big fudge it, and i stopped using it completely, since it was expensive.
Nothing changed, and i lost no more hair for the next 10 years or so. Now im a bit more bald, but im older now.

Thank u doctor. I have been using Min5% Topical for 10 years, once a day in the evening and propecia 1mg. About two months ago I also started using Min Oral 1.25% once a day at noon. Is such use beneficial or might it worsen the problem of hair loss?

I have been on 0.625 mg oral minoxidil daily for hair loss. It has been one week since I started, no change in blood pressure, hair fall kinda stopped. However, I feel my erection becoming softer and doesn’t last, also I lost my morning erection. Not sure it’s minoxidil effect since this all happened one day after starting it ?! Or what ?! Any thoughts?!

I've been on it for two months taking 1.25 in the morning and in the afternoon with not much results. How long does it take to see results?

The issue is not the product itself but the dose

Hi Doc. I have been taking 2.5mg to 5mg of oral minoxidil and 0.5mg of dutasteride for over a year and half. I stared off taking with 2.5MG of minoxidil then increased to 5MG a year ago and have not seen any thickness or growth. I did see a dermatologist and she thought it was a hormone issues which came back negative (even though my testosterone free and total was low normal).
I recently increased my minoxidil dose to 10MG and starting to see small hairs sprouts. I did have a HT 10 months ago but my scalp is still looking like the ugly duckling phase (3 month phase). I am not sure if it’s the minoxidil or if I am just a slow grower.
I do microneedle and take vitamins for hair. Not sure why I am not responding.

Is it safe for my cat if I take oral minoxidil or is it dangerous for my cat if I sweat that shit out and she licks my hand?
