Super fast Shinkansen passing Koukura station

Just got back from japan and I’m here to say that seeing these things go by in real life is way more fun then it should be. The whole station shakes and loudly rumbles when one passes and it sounds like a fighter jet from the platform as it zips by.

Whats crazy is how slow that train looks but how fast it goes by. Like the train cars passing is so much faster than it looks like it approching.

BTW: that strange shaped nose on the trains is designed to reduce the ramming effect of air when the train enters or leaves a tunnel.

Reminds of the Horsham flyer (later renamed the Horsham slacker) tearing through Partridge Green station during the early 1960s. Not quite as fast as the Japanese loco, but quite magnificent in its own way.

There is no "koukura" station on the Kyushu Shinkansen.

It’s not Kokura.. that’s on the Sanyo Shinkansen, and plus all trains stop.

to be fair, china’s trains are a bit faster, but it can’t compete with Japan’s punctuality
