Man, this guy learns really quickly, he does indeed deserve the win

Even though it was your first game, you made some good moves. Maybe consider opening a youtube channel where you take on challenges as you keep improving your chess knowledge

Knowing that the horsie piece can move two squares forward and one to the left does not imply that it can move one square forward and two to the left.
I want my money back.

1:57 I've been playing chess for 10 years and I didn't know horses could go backward either.
Very instructive!

That guy was literally offering his pieces up for sacrifice. It’s like they were trying to do an all-blunder challenge run

Me watching the video: "Man, Simp's interpreting the challenge more restrictively than I expected."
Comments: "The opponent only showed you that the bishop can move X squares diagonally, but you moved him Y squares instead!"

2:59 You can win a chess game at any level of skill if your opponent is a paid actor

I feel like the most confusing thing to a chess beginner must be pawn movement. They can only move forward, but can not capture forward. They can only capture diagonally one square. If thats not confusing enough, for each pawns first move only, it can go two squares instead of one. But if you try to do the two square move to pass an opponent's pawn, they can capture you on the square that would have been the one square move, but only if they decide to do it immediately after you move two squares.

OK that's the most basic material, now let's move on to the other 5 pieces.

Pawn = small guy
Knight = horsey (obviously)
Bishop = thin and tall guy
Rook = guy with three horns
Queen = spiky shape thing
King = pretzel with plus head

2:21 That blunders the guy with 3 horns in the corner

He won, but he still doesn't know why, because he doesn't know that checkmates exist.

It is shocking just how little critical thought the average person puts into playing a game like this. Of all Simp videos thus far, this may be one of my favorites because of the demonstration that it provides.

1:56 No worries, you wouldn't know that the pawn can take diagonally. Horsie safe :)

i like how 100s almost universally go for the scholar's mate pattern thinking they're so clever and immediately fall to bits when it doesn't work

failed. He knew the official name for the "Horsey", a new player couldnt know that

I'm sure before he got cur off at the end CS was going to tell me, someone who loses way more often than he wins, that "you simply need to keep on trying. Chess is a very complicated game that requires many hours of play, but luckily chess is also very enjoyable, so spending hours at it is not a chore, no, just a fun diversion from your otherwise boring life." Thanks CS! I knew you wouldn't let me down!

your horse cannot take their horse,
Because you don know horse can go sideway.

According to Japanese Chess, "桂馬"(Horse)Can only move L shape forward.
