What is GAP insurance and should you buy it?

In this video I explain what GAP insurance is and the benefits as well as, the negatives of having it. I personally have purchased GAP insurance from the dealership but you can also do so with certain auto insurance companies. If you are considering GAP insurance this is a must watch

Hey I recently stumbled on your channel in my quest to learn about how to save people money on insurance when buying a car. Wanted to say I appreciate the content and it is valuable. From someone who has worked at car dealerships before and now helps people save money on their car purchase (car broker) I do want to say that I DO NOT recommend buying GAP from a dealership. For the same reason I don't recommend buying ANYTHING other than the car itself from a dealer. For EVERY product a dealership sells, they're sole priorities rank as follows:
1. To sell the product
2. To profit as much as possible while selling it
3. To provide you with a satisfactory purchase experience


A dealership only acts as a middleman for multiple car related purchases. I would only recommend shopping a dealership if you've already shopped independent providers first, and have a good enough understanding of the policy to compare they're offer with the quotes you've gotten already.


Dealerships WILL use inadequate knowledge of a product or a lack of due diligence in shopping for that product to GOUGE you for money.
