I really like Smart cars, I've owned my Smart ForTwo diesel for 11 years, what a brilliant car, I have a 70 mile daily commute, I only have the one vehicle, I go everywhere in it, sadly the new Smart is only designed for short, local journeys, so not suitable for many present day Smart owners alike to myself.

Although the Smart has been designed as a city car, and I appreciate that this is a small package, many people live in apartments without parking facilities which means that they won't be able to have a home chargepoint, therefore they are solely reliant on public chargepoints, especially here in the UK, unless you live in London, the infrastructure is very poor and unreliable, the lack of range is going to be a major issue when it comes to sales, have Smart got any plans to improve the size of the battery to improve the range? many companies believe that people want extra range to complete one journey, but range is required in case the owner can't access a chargepoint on a daily basis or when the vehicle is say below 50% charge, I know that for me, the Smart is no longer a viable option, but for some, the extra range could be the difference between a sale or an ex demonstrator sat on a forecourt.

I hope you don't mind my thoughts and suggestions.
