One thing that has stopped me from buying Funkos is the price. I miss going to Walmart, Target, and GameStop to buy $8 pops. Now 12 for commons and 15-17 for exclusives is absolutely ridiculous

Can understand the moving aspect of not wanting to add to the pile of stuff to move, especially at that distance. And 100% agree with the other reasons as well. I’ve actually started pulling more and more of my PC and selling them off slowly. I love the nostalgia that funko brings but the redundancy on so many of them has grown old. I slowed up on buying and became more selective on what I buy a little over a year ago and it’s been great. I’ve been able to add some higher valued pieces that I’ve wanted for a long time.

On a different note congrats on your engagement. I actually got engaged at the beginning of the year myself and we’ve been planning out the wedding since. We’re getting married February 2024!

I appreciate the fact that you don’t sugarcoat things and tell it how it is. I also appreciate that you don’t do this for the views but rather the fun of collecting. Keep doing you brother!

Yes, I feel you. The hobby has more lows than highs right now. all of the calamity swirling around Funko as a company, the mass production of unwanted items, the price hikes, poor quality control. I can go on. I am still a fan and expect I will continue to be. I do plan to downsize my collection I have pops that have great value but are not really what I like to collect, and space is becoming an issue.

GREAT video. Very honest and respectful at the sane trme. I haven't purchased a single Funko Pop this year except a signed Bo Jackson. I don't find it fun anymore and have shifted my focus to NFTs and am now questioning whether to abandon that due to a lack of new and exciting IPs.

Thanks for your honesty and not faking it. Best of luck with your future nuptials and possible move. I was literally just reading about an increase of Americans making the move to Portugal. Sounds like it's getting a bit more expensive to do so based on the popularity since COVID.

Agreed. Funko releasing new variations of the same pop (gitd, flocked, etc) makes the first regular pop feels inferior

I'm an oob collector and I feel there's a different type of enjoyment in funko one been you don't care as much as stickers or small dinks in boxes im collecting for the Pop I want to see sitting on my shelves and have a interest in, I also have started to move more into figure/statues you can almost pick up a 12 inch Statue for the price if a 4 inch Pop now. I'm also ok with a fake pop if its a Pop I want and that you can only obtain by paying a flipper some ludacris price. Congratulations on your Engagement 😊

I feel that. I’ve been feeling similar and the thing that kind of did it for me, Funko didn’t have a booth at ECCC, which was off since it’s a company based out of Washington state. Plus they left Everett for Arizona and I’ve felt the quality of shipping has gone down and isn’t as reliable. Plus as you mentioned lots of the same products being produced but in variants. I’d be really interested in you going through your collection and telling us why you have what you have, I enjoy hearing the reasons why people have certain pops in collections.

Bro, I used to buy a few funkos a month, now it's one every 5-6 months it seems. There's just too many out there that it's overwhelming honestly and I'm a much more focused collector now. Congrats on the engagement BTW

Same here been slowly getting rid of my collection and only focus on chases that i want and certain lines. Already sold off about 550 pops and next will be my soda collection.
