It's the same. Remember, we are talking generic formulas. Standard form is ax^2+bx+c=0. We can write 3x^2 +(-5)x+(-7). So in this case a=3, b=(-5), and c= (-7).This is the exact same thing as 3x^2-5x-7. Remember a-b = a+(-b).

c is just a constant. If there's no constant involved, c=0

5x^2-3x=0
a = 5
b = -3
c = 0

i have a question, the variable with a squared exponent should be in the first position or it could be in any postion? for ex c+bx+ax^2=0?

can c be negative and what if the equation does not have nay C!? like y= -4x^2-3x
