As a person who loves the 2014 film. Godzilla fighting and killing this monster in the beginning of the film would have helped the godzilla screen time criticism, and would have shown the audience how dominant he is until being cornered by mutos.

I actually really liked the design for this monster, I hope they make it into a future monster in the, future. Maybe a mix between Rokmutul and the thing we see in the trailer.

Ah, I remember! I too thought this would be *the* rival Kaiju Godzilla would fight in the final film when I first saw that "FATMAN" trailer. Though that didn't end up being the case, I was pleasantly surprised by the MUTOS.

This multi-armed monster concept was likely inspired by the multi-limbed reptile monsters that were sculpted for initial conceptualizations of the MUTO's back in 2010. They're the red/black and yellow/black salamander things that sometimes pop up online.
