Once a month, I have to do a bit of traveling for cancer testing and spend 2 nights in a hotel. I bring you with your stories with me and listen to them. It feels more like home. Dear Stephen, What you are doing here is truly amazing. I believe the loss of story telling is a huge travesty. You have brought to light something so important and are giving us all - returning to us our inheritance. My grandmother was a widow and took in students in order to to survive. They came from the surrounding farms to attend the town school. She also gave shelter to a widow with no family. This woman Michaela was a master story teller and often after dinner would sit by the clay tiled stove surrounded by the students telling amazing stories. This went on in many homes for thousands of years.
One day we will understand what a loss we have suffered and what has been stolen from us. Thank you for this gift of the story. I can't tell you how healing this is for me. I am only just discovering your fireside, and settling in beside the others here. May you be blessed. Katherine

I fell asleep listening as usual but when I woke up early this morning I listened to the whole story because I have always had the softest spot in my heart for children who have lost their parents.
I had a good friend who was the best and most patient mother to her two young children, Tiffany and Jeremy. Sadly, she died of breast cancer at 34. My heart was broken for those sweet children. They still had their father who remarried but they missed out on a lifetime of love from their wonderful mother.

I love all your stories but I think this was the sweetest and most touching of all. Thank you for your kind heart and how much you help all of us here. You are truly a gem. 💎 😮🙏❤️🙏
