Y’all keep forgetting about Vol 2. Vecna quickly put El in a corner, not to mention he wasn’t even trying to kill Eleven. Vecna was more focused on Opening the 4th and final gate, or killing Max more specifically. Yes near the end Eleven overpowered him but remember, positive memories power her in the mind scape. But this is a 1 v 1 so let’s pretend it’s just Elleven v Vecna. WITHOUT anyone else there.
