It's the most significant archaeological museum in the world, located at the foot of the pyramids. It is the future home for ALL of Tutankhamun's treasures. And it is OPEN... sort of... well, partially, at least. The exciting news is that they just opened access to the Grand Staircase, which contains 70 plus colossal statues, lintels, sarcophagi, and more! Come with Laura and see what you can if you go today—before the big grand opening, which will take place...?????????

Thank you for showing some parts of the new GEM. Also I'm so amazed at your knowledge. Hope I meet you one day when I visit Egypt. Probably in the Spring 2025

1:52 Really? I've played Halo 2 and I've never seen that statue anywhere in the Cairo Station levels. Was it an easter egg maybe?

Is your background music Egyptian or from India???

Seems like these sculptures are assembled together a bit like curios, but out of context to one another, though they represent cultures hundreds of years apart....am I wrong.

Would be a interesting video but for the poor sound quality 😊

Should be fully open now...still is not.

The photo clicking is incredibly annoying, why not a smooth transition from one topic to another, and the yellow flashes 🫣

What’s with the Indian background music?

I would recommend people avoid Egypt. It’s corrupt and a nightmare for a foriegner, seriously - some very sinister things have happened to friends. From corrupt police officers, to blackmail, to theft… to physical harrassment. I love Ancient Egypt but this ugly museum and it’s repressive and corrupt society are not worth taking a risk on.

Anything to do with Ancient Egypt at Egypt's Museums are naturally suspect because the time line they use does not reflect the true timeline of history. Remember Ancient Egyptian contributed the pyramids and associated structures to an older people who had left them as a legacy of their own civilization.

And, sadly, as many other museums, this is (again) just a mere "storage" of works. No maps, photos, drawings, etc. showing both when, where and why all those pieces were created, installed and found. Another sad example of the failure of museums that create desolate, destroyed ruins in the original location of all this works and create an artificial "showcase" without context whatsoever.

The lighting on these sculptures is truly unfortunate. This is not a Las Vegas production.
