If only the CryEngine would make a comeback and blow us away with another "Can It Run Crysis"

Loved the dragon swooping in, but the lead singer sorta kept my gaze.. she's quite bendy. ;)

It's all starting to look so real that it's Unreal!

17:05 here's the problem I see with the whole "uncanny valley" with that Siren character... She is overly expressive. Like, you can almost imagine the actress is not speaking and acting how she does normally, but is over-emphasizing her facial features when she is speaking (opening her mouth wider than she should, raising her eyebrows higher, etc). I've seen that a lot with some of these motion capture demonstrations. Like, as much as I like Andy Serkis, he tends to over-emphasize his facial motions too when he acts.

Its not as subtle as how normal human beings speak and emote.

Mr. Serkis' performance is awesome! But the engine didn't track his ears (which would move with those expressions but don't), and his skin pigment should subtly change (lighter when squeezed, temporarily slightly flush when relaxed, more flushed red as he performs) His eyes look really great, but because the skin still looks somewhat plastic it brings down the realism. I only criticize this because I don't think this would greatly impact performance for real-time; and I think this work is amazing so far! :)

This was an extremely slick and impressive presentation. I don't think there's any legitimate criticism you could level against Epic right now; they seem to be doing pretty much everything right.

I would love to watch this but i can not turn it up loud enough to really hear it. seems the more i turn it up the quieter his voice sounds.

I'm excited for the new networking stuff, I'm making an old school FPS with hundreds of monsters, so for the co-op multiplayer it will come in handy.

6 years since the first time this engine shown to developer
4 years since the first game using this engine

this engine still have another 6-7 years to go but today they manage to blur the line between CGI and reality with vico siren
i cant imagine what this engine can do on their next generation; unreal engine 5 somewhere near 2030

Eventually polygon based engines will evolve into molecule based animation engines. Molecule based animations are much easier to process so we can only imagine how much more we will get using less powerful computers.

Unreal Engine 4 true power will be unleashed on next gen consoles. This is just the beginning.

12:48 The Diarrhea it's coming...
Siren looks great... The skin shader specially. The mouth, though... lacks movement. That lower lip needs more "muscles".
