The boycotters missed the memo. See, in a boycott, you're supposed to STOP playing the game you're boycotting. Asking others to boycott the game and then just going on to play it anyway isn't a boycott. Slacktivsm at its finest, and over a nonissue even. Authentic representation in a fictional anime world...what a joke.

As for the Capes game, they may be unhappy with being added to the list, but clearly consumers are even moreso that devs are still accepting these DEI nutjobs' consulting.

Another reason why the boycott failed, they were told you can keep playing just don't spend any money. They couldn't even walk away.

Capes was dead before it was ever noticed that it was linked to Sweet Baby Inc.

It was an interesting idea and there is some fun into it, yet it failed to truly deliver on the promise of its premise (X-Com with superheroes). Yes, it definitely has DEI with is very diverse cast (including a non-binary playable character joining the team before a white male does) but it ultimately collapsed because it couldn't reach the same flow and fun that X-Com does; too unbalanced, playable characters too weak, and forcing certain builds due to questionable game choices.

Also, some TERRIBLE stealth sections. Absolutely atrocious.

Pretty sure their boycott also was not monetary. They told people it was still OK to buy things they like, they just had to make sure to post on social media how angry they are.

What they need to do is try to sue SBI for not fulfilling the promise that their game would do better with their consultation. If they can . I don't know how that works.
