How To Watch The Alien Franchise In Chronological Order

Now that 'Alien: Romulus' has landed in theathers, here's how to watch all 6 movies in chronoligcal order. This new entry into the franchise takes place between th events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) while Ellen Ripley was sleeping.

It focuses on a new group of colonizers who run into the facehuggers and xenomorphs while scavening the Romulus Space Station and brings back elements of the original movies that fans and newcomers will enjoy.

I don’t know why everyone hates on Prometheus, it is a really good movie and I like what they were trying to go with. Sure it isn’t as good as the original or Aliens but I definitely think it is one of the better movies in the franchise. I’m gonna see Romulus today so I’ll see how I feel about that one 👍

Avp and Avpr aren’t canon to the alien franchise, but they are canon to the predator franchise! Funny how that works

Alien vs predator is canon to me because the alien skull is featured in the predator 2 movie as one of the predators trophys. Fox owned both franchises at the time. Comics have been made. Canon. I hope one day we get a predator/engineer interaction, Fede Alvarez the director of Alien Romulas has said he is open to doing an alien vs predator movie.

When I first heard about Prometheus, I thought it was a random sci-fi movie. Even the trailer made it seem so. Once I watched the movie, it was literally the best thing I had seen in years. In my opinion, it's THE best movie in this entire franchise.

I like Prometheus, but it's too detailed for me, and i love Dr. Shaw character development. But I often rewatch Covenant because it's simpler than Prometheus. It's so intriguing to see David go crazy and how loyal Walter is. When Romulus came out, I thought it was less complicated than both Prometheus and Covenant, but the Offspring creature at the end was a big surprise! Oh, it’s been a long time since I rewatched the Ripley series. Maybe I can watch it again tonight because I miss the terror.

Romulus is my second favorite movie in the franchise behind the original of course.... I hope they expand on the engineers though they had so much potential and I hope they show the engineers interacting with The Predator species also

I think all of these series need to be watched in the order that they were released. Experiencing them in that context makes them make more sense and have more impact. For example, if you watch Star Wars in episode order, there’s absolutely no surprise when you find out Vader is Luke’s father in Episode 5.. Star Wars, or what some people call Episode 4, may be the fourth in a series of six, or nine, depending on how you look at it, yet it’s the only standalone film that literally requires nothing before or after in order to enjoy and understand it. So just watch the movies in release order, your brain will be happier.
