The Crossing, an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus. Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity’s creators.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. THAT'S how you make trailers, none of those spoiling clips where 75% of the plot is revealed. Wish more trailers were like this. Got me more hyped for sure!

Is it bad I'm more interested in the Engineer home world than the rest of the movie?

I’ve never known such kindness from a human. That being said, the things I’m going to do to her are horrific in the extreme.

They could've made an entire movie about David and Shaw

They could build up their friendship and then later in the movie create conflict by having Shaw find out about how David poisoned and killed her husband
Or first have David and Shaw land and interact with the Engineers
And as the movie progresses we are shown how David comes to the conclusion of killing the engineers



There are endless possibilities to creating a great story about them, and I would definitely pay to watch a film exploring this idea

Shaw and David are really the heart of these newer Alien films. Their complicated relationship is more interesting than the alien parts.

I'm pissed off that none of the scenes with Dr Shaw and David on the ship together were in the film

I felt really cheated by the way they handled Shaw's story. The character deserved much better and a whole purpose of visiting the engineers planet was wasted. Very disappointing.

Noomi rapace did not deserve to be killed off like that. I had a huge crush on her when prometheus came out and while I was crushed they killed her off and she didnt explore any of what prometheus set up, I was more sad about not being able to see her play shaw and give more life to the character, she was stunning
