Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?

The most convincing alien I've ever seen in a movie. Usually these are just "people in costumes" or wild animals, but here they tried to show a mind that is ALIEN to us.

I like that the thing isn't even trying to kill/hurt her at all. It is immitating her as if he wants to stablish communication.

At 4:12 I think the reason the alien didn't run after her is because once it turned into her it understood all the pain she felt.

One thing to note. If you saw this in theaters or with external speakers for your tv, the trumpets literally shook you to your core, when it happened i literally felt so much unease, my hair stood up all over my body, and i could hardly breath. Ill never forget this movie

it wasn’t trying to “establish a connection” by pressing itself up against her on the door. nor was it trying to kill her. it was mimicking her, only it’s a little delayed so it can’t mimic her perfectly and be totally synchronized. lena opening the door meant the clone was going to slam it shut by default since it fell a little behind and lena didn’t get the door open fast enough. if lena DID fully open the door, the clone simply would have followed her out. lena was suffocating and crushing HERSELF by resisting, hence why when she passes out the clone does too and releases her. if she’d just relaxed the clone would have relaxed too but she was panicking (i don’t blame her). the clone never had malicious intentions, it didn’t WANT to hurt her. it hits her because SHE tried to hit IT, so really lena hit herself. at the end the clone gains enough independence to understand lena’s intentions, just like kane’s clone, which is why lena’s clone caresses kane’s body. kane instructed his clone to find lena. lena instructed her clone to stay behind with the grenade, which is why it stops mimicking her and doesn’t run after her WITH the grenade.

The bending down and trumpet sounding is a work of art 😂 0:34

This was by far one of the creepiest scenes in any recent horror movie

Amazing flick. The scary part is you know it's not human, but it is attempting to emulate a human. Additionally, it's not acting like a friend or ally.

I think this is by far the best representation of an alien first contact

The bear screaming the woman’s scream is the most terrifying thing ever.

10 out of 10. Truly a masterclass visually. The sound design is some of the best I've ever heard. Truly xenomorphic.

The fact it’s not attacking her but imitating is what makes it even scarier, and that music, yeah this is terrifying

One of the best movies, and yes it qualifies as a horror, in recent memory. Brilliant. And it didn't cop out at the end. Just kept going deeper. Loved it. Disturbing

I thought with its close proximity to her body, it was about to undergo an osmosis. But, it does seem to be telepathically linked with her- when she fell, it fell, at the same precise time. The detail, and the certainty of despair, and no escape could be readily seen. Of course a 10/10. No fractions there. Who the heck says Hollywood is Solo on creativity?

I like how (at least to me) the music is like an alien itself, strange, unease, beautifully unknown. In the door scene she can’t scape because she is pushing and therefore the alien is pushing too. The fact that the alien is copying her and the human use that for destroy the alien is like an analogy of our self destructive nature

I bought this after the first viewing. Garland is a genius. This whole film is mesmerising and the last 15 minutes are worth it all. And the music...sublime.

1:25 when you slide it in with no notice

Like the bear, the alien is probably also reflecting her emotions. Meaning that it was somewhat aware of her motivations, that's why it looked sad when she put that grenade on it's hands. Her husband was a professional solder and they are trained to restrain their emotions, or they're supposed to, so it wasn't sure what the humans wanted from it until she came.

The Shimmer and Lena exchanged a part of each other, because Lena wanted to prevent the Shimmer to get out, the Shimmer stayed and burned everything, but also the Shimmer wanted to get out so made Lena leave and lives within her. That's why the Shimmer also touched the burned body of Lena's husband like if it was Lena saying goodbye. At the end of the movie you see that Lena has indeed changed
