Head Graphene XT Prestige Rev Pro Racquet Review

The REV Pro gets updated with Graphene XT, the 2nd generation of Head's polarized weight system. The upshot is easier access to power. Like its predecessor, this light 11 ounces stick puts a surgical 93in² head into a speedy package. As a result, the REV Pro should enable a wider cross section of intermediates to join the midsize party. This one also features Head's Dynamic 16x19 String Pattern, which tightens the center mains for control but leaves the edges open to mitigate off center shock. The result on court is great control and a surprisingly generous feeling sweetspot. Factor in the low flex (59 RA) and you have good shock absorption, and a comfortable feel. From the baseline this racquet swings fast and delivers noticeably more power than a traditional midsize racquet. The quick handling also helps in the spin department where the REV Pro turns explosive upward cuts into impressive spin. At net the REV Pro places an emphasis on speed and pop. Players in need of more torsional stability may have to sit this one out as there isn't much customization room north of the throat (unless you want a swingweight over 335 RDC). Finally, aggressive servers who swing this one fast will find enough power and accuracy to do some damage. Although this racquet is a big departure from the great Prestiges of yesteryear, the REV Pro is a worthy demo for the player who wants a speedy midsize racquet with a nice blend of power, spin and precision.

Dear Andy,

I'm looking forward to change to this racqet.
How can you compare this racket to the Wilson Pro Staff 95S? I use my Pro Staff 95S at 59 lbs, is there a problem if I use the Head Graphene XT Prestige Rev Pro at this tension?

Thanks.

Dear Andy,

I'm looking forward to change to this racqet - Prestige "REV" Pro.
How can you compare this item to the Head Speed? I played this racquet for a long time so, now i am still considering to change to a new type of Head. My question is:
Prestige Rev Pro is a good choice for a baseline player like me when I'm not a volley player? I am looking for a controllable, stable one, lightest (not heavy), and one more thing, I am a onehand-backhand. Overall, do you think Rev Pro is suitable for me or you can recommend for me another better choices: Radical or I keep going with Head Speed?
Thank you so much!

Hi TW, could you do a quick compare and contrast with the previous Graphene Rev Pro, Volkl PB 10 mid and Yonex F93? Which one would you recommend for a baseliner? Thanks..

Hey TW, How would this racquet compare to the Yonex dr 98? I have demoed this racquet (strung with head hawk) and enjoyed the power, spin, and control. I liked the weight as well but would like to look at something with a slightly larger headsize for a more generous sweetspot. Any other recommendations?

Hi. What kind of String would you recommend for this racket?
Right now I have Solinco Tour Bites on it. I am quite satisfied with it although I
miss a bit of power I wouldn´t want to lose control or spin.
Any suggestion? THX

Would this raquet be any similar to a Dunlop Hotmelt 200G? Ive been playing for years but they are gone and hard to find on secondary market, so thinking about making a switch.

Thanks

Hi Andy, I currently use the head xt speed pro strung up with luxilon big banger original at 54/52bs. I am switching to the new xt prestige rev pro. What tension do you recommend stringing this racquet to get the same feeling of my speed. I know my speed is a little stiffer and a more closed pattern, so do I need to string a bit tighter to get the same solid feel like my speed?
