Head Graphene XT Prestige Midplus Racquet Review

The legend lives on! With its dense 18x20 string pattern and thin 21mm beam, this version of the Prestige Midplus retains that familiar blend of control and feel that has attracted generations of experienced players. Updated with Graphene XT (the second iteration of Head's polarized weight system), this stick comes with additional mass at the grip & tip. The extra tip weight is supposed to deliver greater pop, but this racquet's essence is all about control. From the baseline, the manageable swingweight (319 RDC) gives this version of the Prestige easy acceleration (if not the stability of Prestiges from decades past). The firm and low powered response should keep your biggest, most powerful strokes inside the lines. Players looking to add some pop and comfort should definitely use the low end of the tension range and/or install a lively string. Although this is no spin demon, topspin players should find it fast enough to whip up sufficient ball rotation. At net, clean contact is required, and it delivers a surgical response. There's also enough speed to seize & pounce when opportunity knocks. Finally, this racquet's low powered precision should allow aggressive servers to work every nook & cranny of the box. With the Graphene XT Prestige Midplus, Head is still busy redrafting their most classic racquet. Although there is still more work to be done, this stick should work very well for experienced players looking for maximum control. For the Prestige purist or anyone who needs extra stability, we recommend a little weight at 3 & 9 or higher (with counterbalancing in the handle). This should give it the rock solid feel of past generations.

Greetings TW team,
I'm considering getting either this Midplus version or the Rev Pro version, since both seem to be on clearance on your store at the moment. It seems like both are very similar, with small differences. Which would you suggest?
I prioritize control and comfort, since I'm able to generate sufficient pace with my own power. I'm primarily a doubles player, so I do a lot of net play and touch shots.

Thanks

Hi friends, is it a good idea to use the tourna big hitter silver 7 (1.25) at 48lbs on this racket?

Hi, i've gotta question for Andy. Is it possible that this version is more forgiving than the two previous ones? Cause I tried both the IG MP and the Graphene MP (although with different setups, the IG with a multi at 61lbs and the Graphene with Cyberflash at 50, and although the racket that I felt most unforgiving was the tighter one, it had a multi in it so it makes up for the tightness) and I found the Graphene much more forgiving than the IG. Thanks!!

This Head Prestige MP XT racket is more solid and stable than the Prestige MP Youtek IG?
What is the swing-weight of the Prestige MP Youtek IG?
If you add 4 grams at 3 and 9 o'clock in the Head Prestige MP XT racket, how much would it increase in swing-weigth?

My favorite racquet All time was the wilson k-Blade tour 93. After that broke, I used the head youtek ig prestige mp. A Nice frame, but in comparison to the wilson slightly to much power/less control.
Therefore i switched again to the wilson Blade 93 tour (the last 93 with the All black paint job).

This racquet has some cracks and shall probably be replaced any time soon.
What are, in comparison to the Blade tour, similair racquets in terms of power / control / feel?

Out of all of the racquets TW has in stock, which racquet has the least amount of power and spin potential? I'm trying to train with a racquet that gives me as little as possible so that I can really focus on technique. I am currently using a John Alexander 990 woodie.

How are you doing guys? Which one would you recommend between this one and the Speed pro? I tried the speed pro but I couldn't get a demo of this one. I have been playing with the BLX Six One Prostaff 90 since 2014. Before that I used the pro staff 6.0 85. I think I'm about 4.5 or 5.0 level, serve and volley for most of my game...now I think I'm a bit older so I am looking for something that can swing faster and a bit more forgiving....thank you in advance for your comments! Cannot wait!
