POV Drive Video with the 2025 CUPRA Leon 5D VZ 1.5 e-HYBRID DSG 6v (plug-in hybrid car) in Germany. 0 to 60 mph test. 0 to 100 kmh test. The CUPRA Leon VZ PHEV got a 4-in-line 1498cc gasoline engine with a turbo, combined with an 85kW electric motor and a 19,7 kWh battery (usable capacity). It got front-wheel-drive (FWD), a combined 268 bhp / 272 ps (200 kW) and 400 Nm of torque. This plug-in hybrid car accelerates in 7,1 seconds to 100 kmh (official number). In this video we did it in 6,9 seconds, according to our Racebox data. Its official top speed is 229 kmh. This car has an official electric range of 121 km. In realistic conditions we could do 105 km with a full battery (in midseason with outside temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees celsius, a combination of highway and secondary roads with a normal driving style). With an empty battery, the car consumes 6,9 liters of gasoline per 100 km, at a constant speed of 120 kmh on the highway, according to our tests.

Fun fact. This is the same engine - batterypack layout as the a3 etron and that does 0-100 in 6, 3

Wow, what an insanely bad sound. I’ve hated the whole 2030 agenda but I’d rather go electric than have this.
