SLAM the Breaks for an Efficient Golf Swing!

Where should your hands be moving the fastest in the golf swing? At impact, right? WRONG!

Like anything in physics, in order for something to ACCELERATE, something else most DECELERATE. The same thing is true with the golf swing.

In order to maximize the efficiency of the club head, the hands actually need to decelerate through impact of the ball. With deWiz, you can see the exact point where your hands are moving the fastest with the "Distance to Impact" measurement.

Our studies show that the optimal range for the hands to "max out" is right around 20 inches from impact. Try these two simple drills to improve YOUR NUMBERS!

How are we supposed to slam in the brakes? I tried the split hand drill and I am gripping the club really hard.. is that the expectation, to start the downswing keep the arms and grip loose/light and about 20 inches from impact grip the club really tightly and try to decelerate?

Love this drill (split hand) however be careful… did it with my driver while back, and it snapped in my hand.. maybe use an old club just in case

I posted this elsewhere, but I wanted to see if I can get a response here:

Because deWiz is monitoring this thread, I have a question for them. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have the Suunto G6 watch. It is no longer being manufactured, and this is my third (and likely last) one. I use it to measure length of backswing, tempo (along with speed of back swing and down swing), and swing speed (you can change your club setting to get that). I value most tempo and backswing length. My question: what would you say is the value proposition to switch devices? (I don't care about the price, btw.) What will I be glad to have when I switch to the deWiz?

When you are referring to 20 inches, is that “distance to impact”? On the DeWiz app under info, it says more than 30cm or 11 inches. So goal is 20 inches and at least more than 11 inches?
