It's tough watching videos like this because it's like vicariously watching tony become self aware of not only the end of his career but the end of his ability to skate. It's an inevitability but heartbreaking to watch it go down. Thanks Tony for everything you've done for Skateboarding, I don't skate anymore but my life wouldn't have been the same without the games, the videos and trick tips that you contributed.

I had foot surgery earlier this year and now I’m fighting a knee injury (I’m 56) and I keep telling myself if Tony can do it so can you. He is so inspirational in so many ways.

What a living legend! Tony's character serves as proof to where he is today. So much drive and such an inspiration. I can't imagine how hard it is to come back from such a serious injury and at the age he's at.

Inspiring. I’d love to see a series of older skaters giving tips on staying healthy enough to keep skating as they get older. I’m 32 and as soon as I turned 30 it seems like it’s been non stop small injuries that come out of nowhere and take forever to heal.

Easily one of he greatest ever. Even though it's not my style, I still have tremendous respect for him for helping skateboarding become what it is today.

More of a warrior then most of us, but you can see the vulnerability in his eyes. Almost tough to watch.

I broke my collar bone skating a few months ago. Felt like the end of the world when I couldn't skate, 47yrs old it some what dented my confidence too, but slowly getting more confident again.
For a serious injury like that Tony, big props to you for giving it 100% to get back on the board.
Stay strong 💪 ✨️

As you get older, your bones get more brittle and break easier. Just the facts. Take it easy Hawk, we need you skating when your 80

I had a rare femur surgery 11 weeks ago and watching this sent me on an emotional rollercoaster. I'm 11 weeks out and I've been doing PT as well. I am still working on range of motion and using a cane, I can't imagine trying to do a kickflip. I hope Tony and Ed can work together to achieve all his healing goals. :]

Tony's amazing! I really hope he reaches a full recovery; at least enough so he isn't hindered in his skating!

Inspiring.
Played hoops more than 35 years. Twisted my wrist, ankle. Broke my nose, slipped disc lumbar and cervical area. Would still be playin at 56 but my c23, 45, 67, T1 are so messed up my doctor told me to stopped. I cant run anymore becoz the disk would flare up. I do ride my bike with my neck brace just around 30mins. The exercise i do regularly is lying down and doing dumbell press with a towel beneath my neck. Sports is life to me regardless of my age. Man, i miss my youth so much playing hoops everyday. Never regreted going hard even with all the issues i have.

I broke my foot this past June in a skating accident. I have an extra bone in the back of my heel called the Os Trigonum which made healing really hard.

But seeing Tony keep working and fighting (plus the story of Lizzie's mega ramp slam) really keeps me going to heal up. I am finally able to walk fairly normally! now it's all strength building on my right foot.

To say this man has been an influence in my life is a gross understatement. Reading books about him as a kid, getting into skateboarding, the culture, the style. It's hard to see time changing it

"It's not all the way there. There's still a piece of my leg missing not fully healed" but yet your still pulling off air tricks! Tony is the number one GOAT of skateboarding!

That pain and worry about wether you’ll ever be able to skateboard again hurts so much more than the injury.

Hope he heals up or finds something that also gives him meaning. I garden now and cruise on my longboard sometimes.
