Mr Kettner you have THE BEST audio tech, tips/tricks and tutorials on YouTube! I’ve been a fan for years and this video is yet another excellent installment to your channel.
I have a ProFX6v3 which I absolutely adore. I have owned 2 of them along with a ProFX10v3.

This tutorial/demo shows the technical advantages of the v3+ in a precise and concise way!
Thank you Jordan. 👌🏾

Good job. One of the better how-to guides. Not a lot of "when I was playing for the stones we used x but my wife didn't like mick...blah, blah..blah."

Thanks for that.

Love the way you explain things in detail and how you don't talk super fast when doing so :). ♥

Thanks for the note about dynamic mics needing more gain. I'm new to recording, and couldn't figure out why my sound was so patchy in places. Turned the gain up. Problem solved 🙂

Wow this got complicated quickly for me 😮. All I want is to connect to iPad (and restream) for live streaming with a bit of effect on vocals and guitar, is this possible? Many thanks!

I have a slightly older version of this model and I have been struggling to use it effectively. This video was so helpful and now I feel more confident to use it properly. Thank you for this amazing video!!

Is there any issue having a dynamic mic with phantom power on? Thank you.

This is the first mixer I've seen that's a close approximation of the Yamaha AG06. It's within $20, has a similar number of inputs (Yamaha has RCA while Mackie ProFX6v3+ has Bluetooth), identical gain (60db), and the same output options (dry channel 1-2, standard, and loopback). The Yamaha has 3.5mm inputs for microphone and headset (being able to apply compression, effects, etc. to headset mics is pretty rare) along with being BUS-powered (a boon for small setups where you want to minimize extra power cords); the Mackie probably has less finicky software and drivers, analog (on-the-board) EQ with more quick access functions you don't need to go to computer software for, and XLR outputs (that the Yamaha lacks).

The Yamaha is a streamer's friend, while the Mackie is the obvious compact mixer for live events that can also do hybrid stand-in work for computer recording and streaming. Thanks!

Is Phantom Power limited to channel 2 only? Sending Phantom Power into the dynamic mic in channel 1 could be harmful to it, right?

Great stuff. Very methodical in your explanation.
I'd like more detail on the FX and how to use it for karaoke. Thanks.

For Karoke singing, Is individual Partybox better like JBL or just mixer like yamaha has? Which one gives better sound plus music mixing for Karoke?

Great walkthrough video! It's just what I was looking for a few days ago. What's your overall impression of this mixer? Obviously it's not going to compete with a full sized mixer but in this small form factor, I couldn't find many that matched the feature set. Personally, I would have preferred a 3-band EQ, layered FX and controllable compression, but the fact it even has compression is a bonus since it's missing in most small mixers. I'm still waiting for delivery of mine but looking forward to getting my hands on it. Any annoyances I should look out for?

Hi Jordan, like your other videos this one for the Mackie was extremely detailed and easy to understand. I have been a fan for a long time, in fact you helped me a while ago about how to connect an audio interface to a mixer.
I'm currently in a market for a compact mixer (for vocals/karaoke singing & recording only, no instruments) w/these requirements: have a power supply (not bus powered), USB interface for recording, effects, 3 band EQ, 24/192 kHz, Bluetooth & compressor knob. Harbinger LX12 checkes ALL the boxes, this Mackie has all but only 2 band EQ. I'm bit hesitant about the Harbinger brand (reliability, etc.). What's your opinion/suggestions? If I get this Mackie ProFX 6 v3+, is there a way to compensate not having the Mid EQ knob?
