3DR Solo gimble balancing, cheap and no coins

Easy and cheap gimble balancing!!!
I shaped a lead bullet fragment into a small 3 gram rectangle with a hammer. Then inserted the lead piece into the upper left rectangular cutout inside the gimble. This perfectly balanced my GoPro Hero4 Black, no battery, with SandMarc neutral density filter attatched.

Update. A lead .22LR bullet works perfect too. Make sure the lead block is snug but loose enough to be easily removed with needle nose pliers. This way it is possible to move and place the weight in any of the 11 gimble cut outs for fine tuning. My GoPro Hero 4 balances well with the lead in the upper row second slot from the right.

That's clever. A lot of people don't understand the balancing process. It's super important.

I need to try this..so the gimbal with no power on should be balanced with hero 4 black correct? Cuz sometimes, actually a lot, when I fly, the gimbal is tilted to the side a little so it's not level with the horizon and I thought it should be level with no weight for the 4 black..I will try after I pop off a few this weekend

Why do you balance it without the battery?
