Okay, start the clock.

My phone ordered on 10/9 arrived on 10/14 - iPhone 16 Pro - 256GB

I set it up about 7am US/Eastern and it took 10-15 minutes to port my line over from Mint.

Got on the chat at 8:00 Eastern to get it unlocked as I paid for it in full when I purchased it. By 8:30 Eastern, the request was submitted. They said 48 hours, so let's see how that goes. It's just past noon Eastern on 16 October, to give some perspective of when I did all of this.

Edited to add, I power cycled the phone just now it's it's unlocked. No SIM restrictions as of 12:13 US/Eastern on 16 October. So less than 4 hours to get it unlocked.

Pretty smooth process. Just be patient.

How’s the service so far, I’ve had Boost Mobile for about a year and I have no issues at all

I feel like I hear a lot of complaints on the subreddit about boost not unlocking phones. I honestly think its a support technician just completely out of the loop and people run into that wall and dont know where to go. I shared your video on someones post to help. Hopefully, your advice will be helpful in getting customers their rightfully unlocked phones.

Hey Stetson, how are you liking the coverage around town? Obviously, it was lousy in your filming location. I live nearby and am curious if this is a good area for Boost.

Is the "Free Year of Service" offer available if I purchase the Boost Mobile version of the iPhone from the Apple Store?

You can also go with a $25 plan and finance it over 3 years (and not upgrade after that to keep a $25/mo bill). Financing for a 1 TB 16 Pro Max is $44.42 over 36 months. You’d have to forgo the $1000 bill credits but it all goes toward the higher cost $60ish/mo plan

Much better video and the last, really explaining that your phone have to be bought out first before fully unlock

Are you sure that unlocking the phone will still allow you to get the bill credits? I’m trying to understand what’s in it for Boost…

What I didn’t like about the setup is that it took about 3-4 days to activate the device. Very upset with boost for that.

What about the 36 months financing. Will they charge you if you pay?

Is there a great carrier that charges for international roaming on a pay-as-you-go basis rather than a significant fee per day/week/bundle? Some people like to use international eSIMs/local SIMs but occasionally need native roaming for, e.g., receiving 2FA codes from banks, and don't want to pay a significant fee for a roaming package just for this purpose. This caused a significant uproar on the Mint Mobile subreddit when they moved from pay-as-you-go roaming to bundles. Is there such a carrier?
