Monster Swell - Uluwatu, Bali

There was plenty of hype for the biggest swell of the year and it definitely lived up to expectations. Things were a little slow in the morning, but by lunchtime it was fully nuking over at Uluwatu.

There were a few guys towing into huge waves at the Bombie, and quite a big crowd paddling at Outside Corner. We decided to film the Bombie exclusively for this session, and got as close as we could to the action. We hope you enjoy our short recap of the afternoon.

Nearly drowned in Uluwatu back in 1981 surfing that same break.... no such thing as a jet ski, just a guy on a carved out wooden canoe to save me...

Back in the 80s they paddled into swells that size at uluwatu, good riding though, but total respect for the demonstration of competence from the dudes on the jetskis and for the best surfing footage ever, especially lack of music.
