Just want to clear up and clarify a few things with the approval of Adrian since my last comment got deleted.

Melinda did not ask any of us to come over when he was coming over. Of course the roommate was there because she lived there and she had already been hanging out with her friend. That was the reason for them to already be in the apartment.
They both were aware he was coming over. I- however, did not.

The set time for him to come was delayed due to me showing up & she didn’t want him to come in while I was there because she knew I’d do something about it.

We didn’t all collectively make plans to go to a club. I had went out and the roommate drove me. The friend came with us because it was the roommates friend and not really Melinda’s. Also, this part makes it seem like everyone was gone for most of the night, which isn’t true. They came and left twice and stayed in the apartment for a bit of time in between.

As for the reasons to why they left her alone, I can only think that they felt comfortable enough to leave her there with him. Melinda wasn’t in this big abusive relationship with him. sure, they had their arguments but it wasn’t physically abusive (as far as I know)

Let’s all not lose sight of the fact that there is only one single person to blame in this situation and not nitpick and the “what should have or could haves”

I appreciate anyone who has sent me a message on my last comment sharing their condolences and heartfelt messages. Thank you 🤍

People, when you've left an abusive relationship - PLEASE never go back to meet them "one last time"
It could very potentially be dangerous.
Stay safe ❤️

It's wild to me that he had the audacity to message her mother and comment on the memorial page. Pretending to be sympathetic while also blaming Melinda AND her mother. God awful behavior. I wish his sentence was harsher.

So grateful for you Adrian. I’m a Licensed Clinical Therapist and have never seen someone present these videos with such compassion and empathy. You put an emphasis on the victim and it makes your work heartfelt and meaningful and honors the people that have been taken too soon. Thank you for what you do 🙏

For all women and men who have been in abusive relationships or who know people who have been, please please please never EVER agree to seeing them one last time. You will not get closure. Make sure you are in a safe environment, that you’ve notified the police of their past behaviour (even if they don’t usually do much about it) and surrounded by loved ones.

It makes perfect sense that you had trouble being “fair and balanced “ about this narcissistic killer. He has very few redeeming qualities.

So he broke into her home and harassed her, murdered her, then went on the run for months and he only got 16 years??? This is not justice.

The wounds he got on his hands are from him stabbing her. Not the other way around. Just another narcissist. Yuck 🤢. RIP Melinda.

16 years is not nearly long enough.

Rest peacefully, Melinda.

I was born, raised and still live in Cambridge a town right beside Kitchener and I appreciate your description of Kitchener. I would love for you to do a piece on that other case!

Canada never fails to amaze me with how lenient their justice system is. This bastard obviously has zero remorse for his actions. He has no respect or regard for someone's life. Not to mention the fact that he has zero empathy for the grieving family. He instead toys with them, What a scumbag.

He was clearly waiting for her friends to leave. I would NEVER leave her alone with a man I knew was violent and broke in to her house before.

Yes, Adrian, please tell us about those 8 guys, too. I really appreciate your storytelling, so I'm sure it will be a thrilling saga. Thank you!

PSA: Girl code!!! Just cause he's calm doesn't mean you get to leave your friend, girls. Be annoying. It's not time for social etiquette - your friend's safety comes first!

Her gravestone is near my dad's and I spoke to her mother she is the strongest human being I have ever met in my life. My heart breaks for her and beautiful family. I hope that scum bag rots in hell. RIP Melinda.

RIP Melinds, my heart goes out to your family and friends. These arrogant pricks that think they have a right to end a life that see through them angers me so much. Thanks for all your work Adrian.
